1993 - ROM Emulator

What's it? "A circuit that helps debug a ROM chip by simulating the ROM with RAM. The RAM circuit plugs into the ROM socket. Since RAM can be written over, whereas ROM cannot, programming changes can be made easily."

This debugging tools was for embedded systems. EPROM or FLASH memory programming during the application development process is no longer required. The ROM emulator seamlessly replaces the EPROM or FLASH memory of the system under development, thus allowing a very fast uploading of your code directly onto the built-in emulation memory.

The emulator was inserted into the host PC. You then simply insert the appropiate pod into the target's memory socket. The emulator is independent from the target microprocessor, and the emulation of every EPROM or FLASH memory (pod is in DIP, but there were adapters for other packages) is completely transparent and straightforward.

The kind of the ROM types to be emulated, were 2764, 27128 and 27256. Two simple comands of 'Load' and 'Run' were used to load the program/data to the emulator, to switch the emulator to be in emulation status.
